The Minnesota Timberwolves are in a solid playoff position at the moment, sitting at 31-20 and fifth in the Western Conference. However, they are still missing a star point guard to be the lead playmaker, and if they want to make a championship run, they need one ASAP.
Luckily, there’s a proven star guard that wants out by the trade deadline. Los Angeles Clippers superstar James Harden is looking for a way out, and Bleacher Report’s Dan Favale proposes a four-team blockbuster including the T-Wolves, Clippers, Brooklyn Nets, and Phoenix Suns that would get Harden to Minnesota.

The trade would look like this:
Clippers Receive: Jalen Green, Haywood Highsmith
Timberwolves Receive: James Harden
Nets Receive: Rob Dillingham, Leonard Miller, 2026 second-round pick (second-most favorable of Dallas, Oklahoma City and Philadelphia, via Phoenix), Cleveland's 2027 second-round pick (via Minnesota)
Suns Receive: Julius Randle
“As Minnesota hovers around the fringes of Giannis Antetokounmpo trade talks, it isn't expected to make a run at Harden. Yet, according to Stein and Fischer, the 36-year-old has eyes for the Wolves. Given that they're clearly in the market for more shot creation, there might be a deal to work out if they're not sold on Randle being a viable No. 2 in the playoffs,” Kline wrote.

So far this season, Harden is averaging 25.4 points, 4.8 rebounds, 8.1 assists, and 1.3 assists in 35 minutes per game. Combine him with Anthony Edwards, and the T-Wolves have one of the best backcourts in the NBA.
Hopefully, the T-Wolves exit the Giannis Antetokounmpo sweepstakes, as this trade addresses a serious need, and is way more plausible. If it happens, the T-Wolves could have a real chance to make it out of the West.
