The Memphis Grizzlies are trading frontcourt star Jaren Jackson Jr. to the Utah Jazz for a potluck mix of players and three first-round draft picks. Shams Charania of ESPN [shared the news on X](http://The Memphis Grizzlies are trading star forward Jaren Jackson Jr., John Konchar, Jock Landale and Vince Williams Jr. to the Utah Jazz for Walter Clayton Jr., Kyle Anderson, Taylor Hendricks, Georges Niang and three future first-round picks).
Jackson Jr., a two-time NBA All-Star and former Defensive Player of the Year winner, is averaging 19.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks per game for the Grizzlies this season. The 26-year-old is a high-profile, two-way player once coveted by the Grizzlies. Their slow demise to a 19-29 record this year appears to have changed that assessment. Trading Jackson, Jr. may signal a rebuild in progress, which would leave the status of fellow star Ja Morant up in the air.
Per Charania, the Grizzlies traded John Konchar, Jock Landale and Vince Williams Jr. to the Jazz to receive Walter Clayton Jr., Kyle Anderson, Taylor Hendricks, Georges Niang, and three future first-round picks. None of the players Memphis received in return are averaging more than 20 minutes or 7 points per game this season.
