The Memphis Grizzlies made NBA history with their latest blockbuster deal, creating the largest trade exception ever seen in the league.

Team: Memphis Grizzlies

Position: PF, C

Age: 26

Height: 208 cm

Weight: 110 kg

Birth place: New Jersey, United States of America

As first reported by Shams Charania, Memphis traded Jaren Jackson Jr., John Konchar, Jock Landale, and Vince Williams Jr. to the Utah Jazz.

In return, the Grizzlies received Walter Clayton Jr., Kyle Anderson, Taylor Hendricks, Georges Niang, and three future first-round draft picks.

While the player movement is significant, the headline outcome of the trade is the massive 28.8 million dollar trade exception created by Memphis.

That trade exception is now the biggest in NBA history, surpassing the previous record of 28.5 million dollars set by the Boston Celtics in the 2020 Gordon Hayward trade to Charlotte.

The move gives the Grizzlies unmatched financial flexibility, allowing them to absorb a large contract in a future deal without sending salary back.

Jackson remains one of the league's top defensive bigs, even after a slight dip in numbers this season. He is averaging 19.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks while shooting 47.5 percent from the field.
