How Nikola Vucevic fits Celtics lineup after Anfernee Simons trade to Bulls

The NBA isn't waiting for all the pre-trade deadline action.

The Boston Celtics are the latest to get into the fun. Nikola Vucevic is coming to the Celtics from the Chicago Bulls.

The deal, reported by ESPN's Shams Charania, sends Vucevic and a second-round pick to the Celtics for Anfernee Simons and a second-round pick.

The 6-foot-9, 35-year old center is a two-time All Star.

This season, Vucevic is averaging 16.9 points and 9.0 rebounds per game. He's also dishing out 3.8 assists per contest while shooting 50.5% from the floor, 37.6% from 3 and 83.8% from the foul line.

Clearly, he's still quite the productive player, and the Celtics' long-rumored sending away of Simons has come to pass.

Celtics lineup with Nikola Vucevic

The Celtics will have at least a little decision to make, whether they move Sam Hauser or Neemias Queta to the bench.

It makes more sense to have Vucevic stay at his natural center position, which makes the starting lineup look like this:

Payton Pritchard

Derrick White

Jaylen Brown

Sam Hauser

Nikola Vucevic

If Jayson Tatum makes it back this season, he'd slot into that Hauser spot, which would make quite the formidable starting five.

Losing Simons leaves the Celtics weak at the backup guard spots, so there's likely another deal coming from Boston, too.
