The daughter of an Arsenal legend is set to marry a former Manchester United star who failed to make much of an impact at Old Trafford. But, despite the rivalry between the two clubs, the former Gunner remains delighted with the news.
Both Premier League sides are among the division's most successful, regularly competing for honours in the 1990s and 2000s. It led to some memorable encounters between the pair, whether that be the Battle of Old Trafford or Roy Keane and Patrick Vieira taking chunks out of each other.
Dennis Bergkamp knows just how heated battles between the pair could get, having played against United on 23 different occasions. But his daughter, Estelle, is now set to marry a former Red Devil.

Since 2019, Estelle has been dating former Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek. The pair first met when the 28-year-old was still an Ajax player in 2019, just a year before he made the switch to Old Trafford.
The pair have two children together, their daughter Lomee, who is three, and a son called Navy, who is one-year-old. But Van de Beek has only recently decided to propose.
The Dutch international put the question to Estelle at the start of February, who said yes. They shared the photos on Instagram following the news, with her father, Dennis, commenting and giving his approval.

Although Van de Beek endured a difficult time at Old Trafford, struggling to hold a place down in the team due to poor form and injuries, both he and Estelle have received numerous comments from individuals with ties to United. Scott McTominay's girlfriend, Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof's wives, and Luke Shaw's partner have all congratulated the pair.

Prior to dating his daughter, Van de Beek was actually coached by former Arsenal legend Bergkamp while in Ajax's youth setup. The Dutch legend took the young midfielder under his wing while coach of the Under-12s, and believed he could go on to achieve big things.
"Dennis started talking enthusiastically about a talent in his youth team," former Ajax boss Frank de Boer said. "It was a boy who reminded Dennis of himself at that age. That was the signal for me to keep an eye on that guy. That was Donny."
Unfortunately for Van de Beek, while he enjoyed a fruitful career at Ajax, he failed to live up to expectations after signing for United. Going on to become one of the club's worst transfers, he was allowed to leave for loan spells at both Everton and Eintracht Frankfurt before his permanent departure in 2024. The Dutchman joined La Liga side Girona, where he has been ever since.
