There's a lesson to be learned here. Don't believe reports when they tell you that someone is off the table. The people peddling that misinformation are often trying to leverage something, whether it's more assets from a potential trade partner or something else.

It's time for Brian Wright to pick up the phone and solidify the future of this team. If he can add Murphy to this rotation without giving up any of the core pieces, San Antonio wouldn't really have to worry about much else for the foreseeable future. The fit is too perfect.
Give them Harrison Barnes for the expiring contract, four first-round draft picks (I don't really care which years, as long as it's not this one), and throw in any mix of Jeremy Sochan, Lindy Waters III, or Kelly Olynyk. Hell, trade them all if you need to.
Maybe the Spurs' GM could get a third team involved to sweeten the pot. The Silver and Black should be doing everything in their power to add to their firepower because other Western Conference teams are doing just that. They'll continue to do that, attempting to prevent any one team from establishing itself as the one above all for any extended amount of time.

I was already concerned when I heard the rumors of a possible deal with the Golden State Warriors, but it wasn't as dire. Steph Curry is older now and can only keep up his production for so long.
Eventually, they'd be trying to build around the Greek Freak as a solo act, and they'd face the same problems Milwaukee is having now. Minnesota doesn't have that issue. Edwards is a young dog, and he's going to wreak havoc on the league for a long time. He doesn't need to have Giannis as his running mate.
However, a great counter to anything these teams are doing would be to add Trey Murphy III. He's a fantastic defender, and his offensive game is incredibly well-rounded. The versatile forward would fit into San Antonio's system like a glove. They'd be like Voltron. But on a basketball court.
