How to watch Warriors vs. 76ers

The Golden State Warriors return to action Tuesday night with a home matchup against the Philadelphia 76ers. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 PM PT in San Francisco and can be watched on NBC Sports Bay Area.

Previously with the Warriors:

Golden State hasn’t played since Friday night when they lost to the Detroit Pistons, 131–124. The Warriors struggled to keep pace early against the Eastern Conference–leading Pistons and found themselves trailing for much of the night. Then, things worsened in the third quarter when Stephen Curry exited the game with right knee soreness.

Facing a 13-point deficit without Curry to start the fourth quarter, the Warriors’ chances of winning appeared slim. Still, Golden State rallied to make things competitive late, outscoring Detroit 29–23 in the final frame. It was a balanced offensive effort, with eight players finishing in double figures, but the Warriors couldn’t complete the comeback and dropped to 27–23 on the season.

What to watch for tonight:

The Warriors will face a 76ers team riding a four-game winning streak after defeating the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday, 128–113. Since Tuesday marks the second night of a back-to-back for Philadelphia, star center Joel Embiid — who is averaging 26.2 points in 31 minutes per game this season — will sit out for load management. Paul George will also miss the game as he continues to serve a 25-game suspension for violating the league’s anti-drug policy.

Meanwhile, despite head coach Steve Kerr downplaying Curry’s injury and calling it nothing major, the Warriors ruled Curry out for Tuesday’s matchup, along with Jonathan Kuminga.

Without Curry, offense will be harder to generate, making it even more important for Golden State to play smart, limit turnovers, and avoid falling behind early. It will be essential for the Warriors to slow down Philadelphia’s lead guard Tyrese Maxey. He leads the team with 29.2 points per game and was voted an All-Star starter for the first time in his six-year career.
