Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker will play for the USA Stars at the NBA All-Star Game, which is debuting a new competition style this season.
The NBA revealed the three rosters on Tuesday, as there are two U.S. teams and one world team set to compete at the event in an effort to shake up the format and drive interest.
Booker’s squad is the younger of the two American teams with veterans Stephen Curry, LeBron James, Kawhi Leonard and Kevin Durant set to play on the USA Stripes.
Booker, playing in his fifth All-Star Game, is the oldest player on the USA Stars at 29 years old with three first-time All-Stars among the eight players on the team:
Devin Booker (Suns)
Anthony Edwards (Timberwolves)
Tyrese Maxey (76ers)
Jalen Johnson (Hawks)
Chet Holmgren (Thunder)
Jalen Duren (Pistons)
Cade Cunningham (Pistons)
Scottie Barnes (Raptors)
Johnson, Holmgren and Duren will make their All-Star Game debuts. Booker and Edwards are the only other players who have participated in multiple All-Star Games before this season.
Here is the roster for the USA Stripes:
LeBron James (Lakers)
Kawhi Leonard (Clippers)
Kevin Durant (Rockets)
Stephen Curry (Warriors)
Norm Powell (Heat)
Jaylen Brown (Celtics)
Jalen Brunson (Knicks)
Donovan Mitchell (Cavaliers)
Here is the World roster:
Giannis Antetokounmpo (Bucks)
Pascal Siakam (Pacers)
Karl-Anthony Towns (Knicks)
Luka Doncic (Lakers)
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (Thunder)
Nikola Jokic (Nuggets)
Victor Wembanyama (Spurs)
Deni Avdija (Trail Blazers)
Jamal Murray (Nuggets)
All-Star Game format
The new format involves the three teams playing a round-robin tournament with 12-minute games. The top two teams by record once they each play each other will advance to the final game. If all three teams are 1-1, then point differential will be the tiebreaker.
The Eastern Conference versus Western Conference system is not being implemented, even though the All-Stars themselves were picked with 12 from each conference. Leonard was added later, as the U.S. teams needed another player to balance the rosters.
The All-Star Game is on Feb. 15 at the Intuit Dome, home of the Los Angeles Clippers.
