The Memphis Grizzlies are willing to be a key facilitator to finally execute a Giannis Antetokounmpo mega trade.
As rumblings continue to intensify, the likes of the Minnesota Timberwolves, Golden State Warriors and the Miami Heat remain in the race to win the Giannis Antetokounmpo trade front.
For these teams to potentially secure the talent of the Greek star, the Memphis Grizzlies reportedly emerged as a willing one to lend a hand.
According to Yahoo! Sports' NBA insider Kelly Iko, the Grizzlies are compelled to be a facilitator in an Antetokounmpo trade and attempted to bridge the superstar's potential landing in Minnesota from the Milwaukee Bucks in hopes of reuniting with former franchise guard Mike Conley.
In the end, the Wolves landed a deal with the Chicago Bulls and the Detroit Pistons that transferred Conley to the Windy City.
"The Grizzlies are now also interested in being a facilitator in any Antetokounmpo deal elsewhere and are monitoring that situation closely, sources said," per Iko. "Prior to Tuesday’s trade activity, Memphis was exploring the possibility of being part of a multi-team deal involving Minnesota and Milwaukee for Antetokounmpo that would have sent beloved Grizzlies guard Mike Conley back to Memphis, sources said.
"Minnesota instead moved Conley in a deal with the Bulls."
