Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea news, gossip and transfer latest from icfootballnews featuring the likes of Axel Disasi, Joel Philbert and David Fofana that you guys may have missed….
Chelsea have confirmed late on deadline day that forward David Fofana has joined Strasbourg on loan until the end of the season, as they looked to get the striker some much needed game time.
Joao Pedro was Chelsea’s most expensive signing at £60m last summer, but a further £200m was spent on key additions Jamie Gittens, Alejandro Garnacho, Estevao Willian, Jorrel Hato and Liam Delap.
Those arrivals helped CHELSEA win the Conference League last season and lift the Club World Cup trophy over the summer, beating Champions League holders PSG in the final, but there are players that are no longer needed at the club
23-year-old Fofana joined Chelsea from Molde in 2023, but has not managed to crack the first-team, nor has he impressed overly in loan spells with Union Berlin, Göztepe, Burnley, and Fatih Karagümrük.
But the decision was made late on deadline day that Fofana would be allowed to leave and it was confirmed that Strasbourg had taken him on loan for the rest of the season, the Blues posted on the club website: ‘The Ivory Coast international signed for the Blues from Molde in January 2023 and featured on four occasions during the remainder of that campaign.
‘He spent the 2023/24 season out on loan, first at Bundesliga club Union Berlin and then in the Premier League with Burnley. Fofana struck four goals in 15 top-flight matches for the Clarets.
‘The 22-year-old spent the 2024/25 season with Goztepe in Turkey and we now look forward to supporting David throughout his time in France.
‘Good luck, David!’

CHELSEA are a massive club that Fofana could not turn down, but at the end of the day, it shows that moves to big clubs are not always going to work out and not Fofana will need to find another club and get his career back on track.
This loan move is very good for the lad to make, but at the end of the day, he will need to work on a more permanent move away from Chelsea during the summer window that is for sure.
PHILBERT COMPLETES MOVE
Chelsea have announced on the club website that Joel Philbert has left the club and completed a permanent transfer to Tottenham Hotspur after the Spurs made their moves to get a transfer deal done.
The January transfer window has been open for weeks now, and despite all the rumours, despite all the speculation, Chelsea have not managed to bring anybody to the club that will have the ability to make an immediate impact on the side, but they have let a few players leave on loan and on a permanent basis.
There are alot of rumours about players could buy before the deadline on Monday, and many fans were hoping that the board made the decision to bring in a few players rather than let some more young stars leave the club.
But after a few days of talks, CHELSEA have announced on the club website that Joel Philbert has left the club, the Blues posted: ‘Signed aged 14 during the 2023/24 season, Philbert was developed in our Academy and made the step up to feature for our Under-18s during the following campaign.
‘He featured on four occasions in the Under-18 Premier League, scoring once, and also represented the side this season.
‘We thank Joel for his efforts during his time at the club and wish him as he takes the next step in his career’
Tottenham posted: ‘We’re delighted to announce the signing of Joel Vidal-Philbert, who joins our Academy from Chelsea.
‘The 17-year-old winger, with the Blues since his Under-15 year, made his Under-18 Premier League debut last season while still a schoolboy and scored his first goal at that level against Brighton & Hove Albion in January, 2025.
‘An England Under-16 international, he went full-time at Chelsea last summer and links up with our Under-18s squad at Hotspur Way.
‘Welcome, Joel!’

CHELSEA letting a talent leave the club shows that the lad pushed for a move knowing that he is more likely to get more chances in that Tottenham side, so the move for the kid is a good one to make.
And if Chelsea really believed that he could break into the first team, they would have kept the kid.
DISASI MAKES MOVE
Chelsea have now officially confirmed that Axel Disasi will spend the remainder of the season on loan at Premier League side West Ham United after deciding to allow the defender to leave the club.
Despite having all the attributes to be a massive player for CHELSEA, the big man has not played for Chelsea at all this term after being frozen out by ex-boss Enzo Maresca, who was let go by CHELSEA right at the beginning of the transfer window.
He was reintegrated into first-team training by Liam Rosenior but still looked to leave the club in the winter window, and reports did claim that Chelsea and Fiorentina held talks over a possible deal to take the defender to Italian football on loan until the end of the season, but that move never worked out.
That allowed West Ham to make their moves to get a transfer deal done and right at the end of the window, they managed to agree a loan deal with Chelsea that would see Disasi make the move until the end of the season.
The Blues posted on the club website: ‘Signed from Monaco in August 2023, Disasi scored on his Chelsea debut and made 44 appearances during his maiden campaign at Stamford Bridge.
‘The 27-year-old featured ten times for the Blues during the first half of last season before joining Aston Villa on loan in February 2024.
‘We look forward to supporting Axel during his loan spell at the London Stadium.
‘Good luck, Axel!’

Look, it is obvious that CHELSEA have some defensive issues at the back that need to be solved, and it is pretty obvious that Disasi is not the player to help ease those issues, and that is why he was allowed to leave the club.
This loan move to the Hammers is only until the summer, but we can see him leaving on a more permanent basis.
