Guerschon Yabusele confirms interest from EuroLeague team

New York Knicks forward Guerschon Yabusele confirmed that the EuroLeague team Hapoel Tel Aviv approached him and made some calls, but there haven't been advanced discussions yet.

The New York Knicks forward Guerschon Yabusele faces an uncertain future ahead of the NBA trade deadline.

The Frenchman has been linked to numerous trade rumors, but recent reports in Europe suggest that Yabusele might be on his way back to the EuroLeague.

Yabusele confirmed that there's interest in him from Hapoel Tel Aviv.

"I ain't closing no door on nothing," Yabusele told Stefan Bondy. "I don't know what's going to happen. I don't know what tomorrow's going to be. So right now I can tell you nothing has been discussed or signed or anything like that."

"I'm a Knicks player at the end of the day. There's nothing with that. But there's been teams calling, so yeah, I feel like the report was just them saying they want me, and then everybody thought that I signed something already. No, nothing like that. But there's some teams out there that we heard are getting ready to sign me if I go back that way. We'll see what happens," Yabusele added.

Noa Poplinger of Sport 5 reported that Hapoel are in negotiations with Yabusele's entourage, while Sotiris Vetakis of SDNA noted that Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens are already in advanced talks.

In a conversation with BasketNews, Yabusele noted that Real Madrid would be among the teams he would be interested in.

"Madrid is going to be, to be honest, I'm going to tell you, one of the first teams that we're going to have the conversation first to try to see how it's going to be," Yabusele revealed last week. "I'm not closing my door on anything else, but you know, my house is in Madrid."

"I consider myself like somebody who lives there all the time and goes back in the summer. That would be special to be back there," the Knicks forward said.

This season, Yabusele averages 9 minutes, 2.7 points, and 2.1 rebounds per game in 41 appearances for the Knicks.

During the summer, the 30-year-old signed a 2-year, $11.3 million deal with the Knicks. He has a player option in his contract before the 2026-27 season, worth $5.8 million.
