Chelsea confirms defender deal–Midfielder delighted with winter move–Chelsea confirms deal for 27-year old powerhouse

Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea news and gossip that you guys may have missed…

Chelsea have now confirmed late on deadline day that defender Aaron Anselmino has joined Ligue 1 club Strasbourg on loan for the remainder of the 2025/26 season.

Tosin Adarabioyo and Levi Colwill are both currently unavailable due to injuries, leaving just Wesley Fofana, Trevoh Chalobah and Benoit Badiashile as options at centre-half.

The 20-year-old, whose only appearance for his parent club since his move from Boca Juniors two years ago came in last summer’s Club World Cup, joined Dortmund in the summer and had made a positive impact over the course of his 10 appearances.

But despite the fact he did not want to make a return to CHELSEA at this stage of the season, in the end of the Blues made the decision to cut the loan short at Dortmund and bring him back to help ease the issues in the back-line.

However – he was not back at the club long as Chelsea have now decided that another loan move with French side Strasbourg would do him the world of good, the Blues posted on the club website: ‘Anselmino spent the first half of the campaign with Borussia Dortmund, making 10 appearances in all competitions before being recalled from the Bundesliga side. He will now continue his development in the French top flight.

‘Signed from Boca Juniors in August 2024, Anselmino spent the second half of the 2024/25 season with CHELSEA and was part of our victorious Club World Cup squad last summer.

‘We look forward to supporting Aaron throughout his loan spell.

‘Good luck, Aaron!’

RUNHAM DELIGHTED WITH WINTER MOVE

Midfielder Frenkie Runham has opened up and admitted that he is delighted to have joined Ipswich Town, after Chelsea decided to allow the young man to leave on loan for the rest of the season.

CHELSEA have been very active in the transfer market in allowing a number of players to leave the club on loan or on a permanent basis, and that has now been the same for Runham after the Blues announced that he has left the club on a loan basis.

Ipswich Posted: ‘The club is pleased to confirm the signing of Frankie Runham from Chelsea. The 19-year-old winger joins on a loan deal and will link up with John McGreal’s U21s for the remainder of their maiden Premier League 2 campaign.

‘Frankie, who has been with CHELSEA since the age of eight, has risen through their youth ranks and has represented England from U15 to U18 level.

‘At just 15 years old, Frankie became Chelsea’s youngest ever UEFA Youth League goalscorer when he found the back of the net in a win over Dinamo Zagreb back in 2022.

And after officially making the move to Ipswich, Runham could not hide his delight at the winter move: “I’m delighted to be at this massive club,” Frankie said.

“I’ve had a good youth career so far and I’m now looking forward to continuing my progress at Ipswich Town.

“It’s a huge club that are doing well at the minute in Premier League 2 and in the Championship, so I see the club’s going in the right direction and I feel it’s the right place to give me the right pathway in my career.”

DISASI HAPPY WITH JANUARY MOVE

Axel Disasi is very delighted with the move that he has made to West Ham after Chelsea and the Hammers reached an agreement which would see the big powerhouse make the move late in the winter transfer window.

The 27-year-old has joined the Hammers on loan from London neighbours CHELSEA, boasting over 300 senior appearances in the English top-flight, his native France, in European competition and on the senior international stage.

And after making the move to the Hammers, he told the club website: “I’m very happy to be here, to have this opportunity for my career. I’m just ready to fight and to play games.

“As you say, my path was a bit different. I didn’t go to an academy. I signed for Paris FC [in 2014, when I was 16], where I spent two years. I then moved to Stade de Reims, where I spent four years, and got my first professional contract there at 20 years old.

“Then I moved to Monaco for three years, then Chelsea and Aston Villa, and now I’m here.”

“I think it was the right move for me because, as everyone knows from my situation, I needed to get some minutes.

“The Club gave me the opportunity to show my quality on the pitch. I spoke with all the people here, and I feel that they really wanted me, so that’s why I’m here today, and I can’t wait to get going.”

“I just want to bring my personality and my character on the pitch. I like to be dominant and aggressive, but at the same time, outside the pitch, I’m someone who can laugh with the guys and make jokes.

“I just want to bring myself and make sure that we achieve our goals. I know them from the national team, so I’m very happy to see them back here.

“I also know Soungoutou Magassa. I saw him start in Monaco as a professional, so I’m happy to see him, and I’m sure that we’ll get the confidence all together on the pitch.

“He (Magassa) just told me to sign. Even this summer when he signed [for West Ham], I sent him a message saying, ‘Congratulations, but now this is the Premier League, so you have to be ready’.

“I spoke with him this week. I think he’s happy as well, so it’s nice.”

“As I said, everyone knows my situation in the last few months, so I just want to get back on the field, feel the sensation of games and help the team with my skills this year.”
