Timberwolves assets for Giannis trade revealed

Minnesota is actively pursuing a trade for the Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo, making its entire roster available in a potential deal, except for Anthony Edwards.

The Minnesota Timberwolves are not hiding their intentions to make a trade for Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Last night, they opened a roster spot, dealing Mike Conley in a three-team deal in exchange for cash considerations.

Shams Charania of ESPN said the open roster spot is in place as they pursue a potential trade for the Greek superstar.

NBA analyst Jake Weinbach revealed that Anthony Edwards is the only untouchable asset for the Wolves ahead of the trade deadline:

"In ongoing trade talks for Giannis Antetokounmpo, the Timberwolves are expected to make anyone on the roster available outside of Anthony Edwards," Weinbach starts.

"If Minnesota were to pull off a blockbuster deal with the Bucks, it would most likely be a mega multi-team framework with valued impact players routed to other teams in order to provide Milwaukee with desirable future assets."

Weinbach was specifically asked about Jaden McDaniels' future with the team.

"Bucks could certainly choose to keep McDaniels in a proposed deal with the Wolves, but rerouting him would make the most sense if the ultimate goal is to maximize future assets."

With a short sentence, he claimed that the New York Knicks aren't actively chasing Giannis this season:

"I don't think the Knicks are in the race for Giannis anymore," Weinbach concluded.
