John Terry had Arsenal fans in stitches as the Chelsea legend shared his heartbroken reaction to Kai Havertz’s goal that knocked the Blues out of the Carabao Cup.

Mikel Arteta’s side booked their trip to Wembley on Tuesday night when the former Chelsea man came back to haunt his old club by scoring the clinching semi-final goal with the last kick of the game.

The Gunners had won the first leg 3-2 at Stamford Bridge last month and were set to nervously hold out Chelsea to a 0-0 draw before Havertz broke away to win the game and put the cherry on top of the cake as Arsenal confirmed their spot in their first cup final since 2020.

Chelsea hearts were sunk as the roof came off the Emirates, and no one was hurt more than the former Blues captain who decided to record himself reacting to the final minutes of added time.

Hoping Liam Rosenior’s side would force an injury-time equaliser and send the game to extra-time, instead Terry caught the exact moment his heart broke as Havertz wheeled away in celebration. Despite confidently claiming the German was “offside”, no flag was forthcoming and the reality set in.

“Not a bad performance from us but didn't really look like scoring all night to be honest and Arsenal have done what they needed tonight,” Terry said as he looked miserably into the camera while Havertz pointed to the Arsenal badge over his shoulder.

Terry was watching the game with his daughter, Summer, 19, who wasn’t so forthcoming to be a part of the video during a gut-wrenching time for the Blues. “Don't put that anywhere please,” Summer said while trying to cover her face after he turns the camera towards her on the couch.

The England legend tells her: “Say sorry.” Which Summer does so, but she continues to plead: “You're not putting that anywhere.” Terry insists: “I am.” As Summer persists: 'You're not.”

In all fairness to Terry, Summer does live a strictly private life with her boasting 54,000 followers on TikTok and previously playing in the Blues’ youth academy and coaching children’s football.

However, Terry should have listened to the obvious advice of not giving Arsenal fans endless ammunition to taunt the Blues legend and their fans as they prepare to head to Wembley.

One Arsenal fan lapped the moment as they wrote on X: “'Thought Kai Havertz scoring would be the best thing I watch tonight but here’s John Terry recording himself thinking Chelsea will score only for Kai to win it. In his full Chelsea tracksuit ahaahhahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahah.”

Another joked: “Why would he even post this? Like he had the option to press post.” While another quipped: “John Terry thought Chelsea would equalise only to record the Havertz winner in 4K.”

Arsenal will progress to play either Manchester City or Newcastle in the Wembley showpiece on March 22, with Pep Guardiola’s side holding a 2-0 advantage from the first-leg.
