Former Liverpool FC striker Andy Carroll has arrived at court this morning (Wednesday). The striker arrived at Chelmsford Magistrates' Court on crutches on Wednesday (February 4) following surgery on his hamstring.

Carroll was charged by police for breaching a non-molestation order after being arrested in April. The alleged offences are reported to have happened in March, with the 36-year-old being arrested on April 27.

A statement released by Essex Police to the ECHO at the time of the arrest said: "A man has been charged with breaching a non-molestation order.

"Andrew Carroll, 36, of Epping, was arrested on 27 April and the alleged offences relate to an incident in March."

He was first due to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates' Court on December 30.

The striker, who earned himself nine caps for England, was once the Reds' record signing when he arrived on Merseyside for £35m from Newcastle but after managing just 11 goals in his 58 appearances for Liverpool he was sold to West Ham.
