Despite several trades going down over the past week, no player's name has dominated the NBA's trade market more than the Milwaukee Bucks superstar, Giannis Antetokounmpo.
The basketball world is waiting on the Greek Freak's next move. He knows it. Therefore, Giannis wants to have fun with it.
On Tuesday night, the star big man took to Instagram to send a message to his 16 million followers.
"No pencil but I'm still drawing all the attention," said the Bucks' star.
Until the trade deadline kicks in at 3 PM ET on Thursday, Giannis will be the talk of the league. If he doesn't change uniforms for the first time in his career, you can bet the talks won't stop. The future of Antetokounmpo has been in question over the past couple of seasons, and the rumors intensified throughout the 2025-2026 season.
Several teams have expressed a lot of interest in Antetokounmpo. Those with links are the New York Knicks, Miami Heat, Golden State Warriors, and the Minnesota Timberwolves.
As expected, the Bucks aren't exactly eager to move on from Giannis. In fact, they are more hesitant than anything. As for Antetokounmpo, he won't publicly push for a move and continues to tell the media and his fans that he hopes the situation can resolve itself in Milwaukee, as he's been with the team since getting drafted.
In a perfect world for both parties, Giannis could get healthy, the Bucks could make moves to complement him, and his eventual return could help with a playoff push. None of the events that have taken place this season suggests that's realistic. Two injuries have taken Giannis off the floor for stretches of games this year. Worthy trades are hard to come by, and the Bucks can't win consistently enough this year.
In 30 games, Antetokounmpo has been a force, averaging 28.0 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 5.6 assists. Yet, the Bucks are 15-15 when he plays-and 4-14 when he doesn't. A 19-29 record for Milwaukee has them in 12th place-3.5 games out of the Play-In. He's still got time left in his recovery, and the season is more than halfway through.
There's no telling what will happen over the next day and a half. The only guarantee is that discussions will take place until something materializes or the market closes. In the meantime, Giannis will continue his recovery from a calf injury, waiting for answers with all attention on him.
