The Oklahoma City Thunder entered Tuesday night's game against the Orlando Magic, looking to improve on recent momentum, having lost three of their last five matchups.
Oklahoma City dominated throughout the evening, opening up with a 39-14 first quarter and riding that momentum to a huge 36-point victory.
Isaiah Joe led the team in scoring with 22 points off the bench on 8-for-12 shooting. Last year's MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander continued his current streak of 20 points or more (121 games), scoring that total exactly and sitting out the fourth quarter.
However, it was big man Isaiah Hartenstein who stole the show, earning his first career triple-double in just 23 minutes. Hartenstein finished with 12 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists and one block.
Following the game, head coach Mark Daigneault compared his performance to one of Oklahoma City's all-time greats. "He was awesome. Congrats to him. That's his first career triple-double, in like 22 minutes. That's like Westbrook stuff," Daigneault said.
Sideline reporter Nick Gallo confirmed after the game, that Hartenstein's triple-double was the third quickest in franchise history.
With the win, Oklahoma City became the first team to reach 40 wins this season and currently sit 29 games over .500.
That said, the San Antonio Spurs are still within striking distance, sitting six games back of the No. 1 seed.
San Antonio has gotten the better of the Thunder thus far, currently leading the season series 3-1. Oklahoma City will have one last chance to get their revenge on the Spurs Wednesday, as the two teams matchup for the fifth and final time this season.
