When Will Bukayo Saka Return for Arsenal? Injury Update Ahead of Brentford, Tottenham&Sunderland

Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka is currently dealing with a groin injury, which could see him miss a couple of weeks.

The Gunners managed to get into the Carabao Cup final by beating Chelsea 4-2 on aggregate, but they had to do it without winger Bukayo Saka, as he was out with a groin injury. Saka suffered his injury in the warm-up before their Premier League game against Leeds last weekend.

Heading into their next game against Sunderland, Mikel Arteta will hope that Saka won’t be out for long, especially seeing as they also saw a recent injury to midfielder Mikel Merino too.

How long will Saka be out for?

Saka has already been ruled out of Arsenal’s next game, which comes against Sunderland on Saturday, meaning Noni Madueke will likely replace him again, starting on the right-wing of Arteta’s side.

Speaking after the Chelsea win, Arteta told Sky Sports: “He’s okay, we need to have more tests tomorrow to understand how he is. This game was too short. Let’s hope that it’s not too much.”

As things stand, it is understood that Arsenal are targeting a return for Saka in the next North London derby, which comes on Sunday 22 February at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, which will be a massive relief for many Gunners fans.

However, because of that, Saka is likely to miss Arsenal’s game against Brentford on Thursday 12 February, and their FA Cup fourth round clash against Wigan Athletic on Sunday 15 February.

Do Arsenal have any other injuries?

In terms of other names out, as mentioned Mikel Merino suffered an ankle injury. He looks set to be out for a lengthy period of time, and could miss the remainder of the season after undergoing surgery.

Martin Odegaard was ruled out of the Chelsea game, but it was only expected to be because of a minor knock, so he should be available for the Sunderland game on Saturday, which is great news.

Finally, Max Dowman remains out with an ankle injury, but he’s nearing a return, as he is expected to be back for the FA Cup game against Wigan.
