With that in mind, the Portland Trail Blazers were dealing with a few injuries of their own, most notably one to Deni Avdija who was named an All-Star for the first time this season.
After getting off to a rough start in the first quarter (outscored 41-30), the Suns made an impressive third quarter comeback, outscoring Portland 34-22 in that frame and eventually earning a five-point victory.
Collin Gillespie fueled Phoenix all night, scoring a career-high 30 points on a career-high eight three-pointers made. He also added 10 assists to complete the double-double to go along with four rebounds and three steals.
According to StatMuse, Gillespie became the third player in Suns' franchise history to finish a game with at least eight assists and eight made three-pointers, joining his teammate Devin Booker and Hall of Famer Steve Nash.
Grayson Allen and Mark Williams also excelled, each scoring 24 points.
The victory moves the Suns 11 games over .500 at 31-20 and keeps them in a tie for fifth place in the Western Conference with both the Los Angeles Lakers and the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Phoenix will suit up again Thursday, returning home to face the Golden State Warriors.
