Kings plan for DeMar DeRozan revealed if trade doesn't happen

The Sacramento Kings may buy out six-time All-Star DeMar DeRozan if a trade doesn't materialize, after unsuccessful attempts to move him and Zach LaVine.

The Sacramento Kings could buy out six-time NBA All-Star wing DeMar DeRozan if they're unable to find a trade ahead of the February 5 deadline, according to Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated.

"Keon Ellis may not be the only Kings player on the move," Mannix mentioned in his report. "Sacramento has not had much success generating interest in veteran wings Zach LaVine and DeMar DeRozan. DeRozan is a strong candidate to be bought out after the deadline, while the Kings will likely try again to move LaVine in the offseason."

The Kings reportedly explored a trade sending 36-year-old DeRozan to the Portland Trail Blazers for Jrue Holiday, but no deal materialized.

This season, DeRozan is averaging 19.2 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game in his second year with Sacramento.
