Tottenham are said to be interested in a productive winger ahead of the summer.

Tottenham are said to be eyeing a winger deal ahead of the summer amid a big shortage at the top end of the pitch. Thomas Frank has been left very short of options up top following the sale of Brennan Johnson that was followed by a bad run of luck with injuries.

Mohammed Kudus and Richarlison were ruled out for at least a couple of months soon after, and Dejan Kulusevski has not returned to fitness as soon as hoped following a long-term layoff.

Tottenham were said to be pushing to sign a forward in the winter window, and they were said to be willing to spend big, but aside from the signing of midfielder Conor Gallagher, they did not. There have been reports that they could sign Raheem Sterling on a free deal, but nothing concrete has arisen from that at this point.

While Kudus and Richarlison will be back by the summer, Tottenham will still need to replace Johnson, and they are very likely to be in the market for a new forward or two ahead of next season.

One player who is not being linked is AS Monaco star Maghnes Akliouche, who has been catching the eye in Ligue 1. TEAMtalk say Spurs are planning a summer move for the winger, who has four goals and five asissts so far this season. For context, Monaco are currently 10th in Ligue 1.

January exit speculation

Akliouche was linked with a move to Manchester City ahead of January, leading Monaco boss Sébastien Pocognoli to comment on the speculation. He said: “I count on everyone during the second half of the season.

"But Maghnes is free to make his decision. Decisions concerning his future are his own. What I can say is that there are still many things he can develop before he takes this step.” He added: “Did I ask the management to close the door? No. I am happy with my squad and will work with what I have when the window closes. I always adapt. I have done that since I arrived."
