The Milwaukee Bucks are taking calls from all over the NBA about Giannis Antetokounmpo. Antetokounmpo is the best player on the trade market. A deal will be made either at the trade deadline or this summer in the offseason.

Golden State, Miami, and Minnesota have been the three main teams that have made the most calls. The Timberwolves have already made a trade to try to clear cap space for Antetokounmpo. Yet, that might not be enough for them to land Antetokounmpo.

The Bucks are going to need a massive package in return for trading their franchise player. Their asking price for the Timberwolves to get Antetokounmpo has been revealed.

The Bucks Have a Very High Asking Price for Giannis Antetokounmpo

According to Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated, the Bucks are asking for Jaden McDaniels and multiple first-round picks from the Timberwolves. That is a price that might be too high for Minnesota, as they can only trade one first-round pick right now.

In order to get multiple first-round picks, the Timberwolves would have to get a third team involved in a trade. This is one of the reasons why the Bucks might wait until the offseason to make a trade. There will be more suitors for Antetokounmpo at that time.

That doesn’t mean that Milwaukee won’t get a deal done before the trade deadline. They might get blown away with a deal and decide they won’t get a better one this offseason. Minnesota has to find a way to get multiple first-round picks if they want to bring him in.

Right now, Golden State is the favorite to land Antetokounmpo. They have the draft capital that the Bucks desire to facilitate a rebuild. Getting rid of Antetokounmpo would signal a full rebuild. Milwaukee doesn’t have enough of its own draft picks to rebuild quickly.

The Bucks Might Hold Giannis Antetokounmpo Until the Summer

With so few suitors able to offer the package that the Bucks desire, they might hold on to him until this summer. Milwaukee won’t settle in a trade for him. Antetokounmpo will hold more power in the summer because he will be closer to becoming a free agent.

Jon Horst finds himself in a tough spot. He would have been better off trading Antetokounmpo last summer. He would have been able to get more in return for Antetokounmpo than he will now. The Bucks might have been able to play better this season, as well.

Right now, Milwaukee has the seventh-worst offense in the league. Some of that has to do with the lack of chemistry that team has right now. Part of that is because of this situation surrounding Antetokounmpo. The sooner he is traded, the sooner both sides can start rebuilding.

Antetokounmpo is one of the most talented players to ever become available in a trade.
