While Chelsea’s first team squad were being dumped out of the EFL Cup by Arsenal, their youngsters were celebrating a big win in the UEFA Youth League.
The young Blues had enjoyed a very strong group stage campaign, topping the group with five wins and a draw in their six games.

After the break, a bizarre decision saw Chizzy Ezenwata sent off for a collision with the goalkeeper, where a yellow card was all that was required.
The game went to penalties, where a number of Chelsea goalscorers had something to say to the PSV shot stopper upon finding the net.
As Freddy Bernal saved the decisive spot kick, the young Blues immediately celebrated in the face of their opponents.
Despite the controversial scenes, Chelsea have reached the same stage of the UEFA Youth League as their first team side, who still wait to find out who their opponents will be.
