Fresh Liverpool exit update emerges regarding"world-class"hero; European giants like him

Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister reportedly remains “well-liked” at Real Madrid, having been linked with a move there in the past.

The Argentine has been well below his brilliant best this season, looking a leggy figure who hasn’t been able to have his usual influence.

Mac Allister has been mentioned as an option for Madrid over the past year or so, with his father playing down the rumour in 2025:

“I read the rumours, but that’s all they were. There was no contact. In any case, it’s always nice when my son is linked with the biggest clubs in the world. Real Madrid is a very big club, but so is Liverpool, and we must be responsible and respect the institution he belongs to and that believed in him.

“I have to be prudent. He plays for Liverpool now. In the future, if the opportunity arises and it’s appropriate, he’ll have to make his own decisions.”

Now, The Athletic report that Mac Allister is still “well-liked” at Madrid, as the Spanish giants weigh up their midfield transfer targets in the summer window.

The fact that his current deal at Anfield only runs until the summer of 2028 “might make a deal more feasible”, with Paris Saint-Germain star Vitinha and Chelsea ace Enzo Fernandez also mentioned as options.

Would losing Mac Allister be a blow for Liverpool?

As mentioned, Mac Allister has been a disappointment for Liverpool this season, so some supporters may not be devastated to see him leave in the summer.

But it is easy to forget that he is still only 27, even if he may sometimes appear older, and journalist David Lynch lauded his ability last season, helping the Reds win the Premier League title:

“He is absolutely world class at everything that you need in a central midfielder, and then the fact that he was at the heart of the [Tottenham] performance that sealed [the title], I thought was very fitting because he’s been absolutely fantastic all season.”

For now, Liverpool keeping Mac Allister is the preferred outcome, considering he may just be having a tired dip in form, before roaring back to his best next season.

If the Reds are willing to say yes to Madrid, though, they must ensure that their Champions League rivals break the bank for him, generating funds for an elite-level replacement.
