Things are starting to heat up for the Los Angeles Lakers on the trade market.
The Lakers have been linked to several high-profile targets lately, most recently a controversial four-time NBA champion forward who’s spent his entire career with the Golden State Warriors.
"He (Draymond Green) is in the offer to the Milwaukee Bucks that is out on the table,” ESPN’s Brian Windhorst said. "And Draymond has taken action on himself. If he were traded, his plan would not be to remain in Milwaukee.”
“He would want to be moved on. A team that would be possible if he were traded. I can't emphasize the number of 'ifs' I've said enough before I say this, but the Los Angeles Lakers would be a team he would have interest in, and they would have interest in him.”
While Green has won four titles with the Warriors and will go down as a franchise legend, there’s no question he’s made questionable decisions in his career. From excessive/unnecessary fouls to head-scratching postgame comments to reporters, Green is known for landing in hot water in the big leagues.
That said, the Michigan State product’s on-court contributions make him an intriguing trade option for the Lakers. Green has made a living making high-level reads as a point forward, using his polished screening ability to help create open perimeter shooting opportunities for Stephen Curry, and altering games with his play on the defensive end.
Green, who’s averaging 8.4 points, 5.7 rebounds, 5.2 assists, and 0.9 steals per game this season, has expressed interest in playing alongside LeBron James, making him a realistic trade target for the 17-time NBA champions.
