Some fans in Philadelphia were perturbed that star center Joel Embiid wasn’t named an All-Star for the 2026-26 NBA season despite his productive play.
On the season, the big man has appeared in 29 games for Philadelphia and is averaging 26.1 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.1 blocks per performance.
At one point in his career, the perceived snub may have bothered Embiid, but at this point he’s [not bothered by it](https://x.com/JClarkNBCS/status/2018881290427085101). He’s just excited to be playing consistently good basketball after his last couple of campaigns were derailed by injury issues.
“I don’t need any validation from anybody,” Embiid said. “I’m happy where I’m at. I’m excited to be playing every night. If that didn’t happen, who cares. I’ve already accomplished everything. There’s only one thing missing for me. Not my wife, but another ring. As a basketball player, there’s only one thing missing.”
_More to come._
