The Los Angeles Lakers are unlikely to make a trade before the February 5 trade deadline, according to Sam Amick of The Athletic.

Los Angeles Lakers / Schedule

The team has been actively looking for a 3-and-D wing to boost their defense and add athleticism, but so far, they haven't found the right fit.

According to Dan Woike of The Athletic, some rival executives say the Lakers are still willing to trade their 2031 or 2032 first-round pick for the right wing. The problem is that no player seems available at that price.

With limited draft assets, few players with trade value, and a focus on the summer, significant roster changes are more likely to happen later rather than now, per Woike.

Currently, the Lakers are primarily shopping sophomore wing Dalton Knecht, though he is seen as a negative asset. Gabe Vincent and Maxi Kleber are also considered to be on the trade block.
