Manchester City v Newcastle United team news: Eddie Howe has made three changes for the Carabao Cup semi-final at the Etihad Stadium.
The Magpies are without several key players for the trip as they look overturn a 2-0 deficit from the first leg defeat at St James’ Park last month in order to reach a third Carabao Cup final in four seasons.
Newcastle have never won or even scored at Manchester City under Eddie Howe. Though the club’s only ever win at the Etihad Stadium came in this competition back in 2014 with Rolando Aarons and Moussa Sissoko scoring in a 2-0 win.
Newcastle are without captain Bruno Guimaraes and Lewis Miley for the match while Tino Livramento, Fabian Schar, Joelinton and Emil Krafth remain out due to injury.
Sven Botman is back in the starting line-up after remaining on the bench in Saturday’s 4-1 defeat at Liverpool due to a thigh issue.

Eddie Howe provides NUFC injury update
Ahead of the trip to City, Howe said: “Yeah, Bruno's doing well. Don't think he'll make this game, but there's a chance for the weekend.
“Sven Botman is okay [but] Lewy, I'm not sure he'll make this game either.”
NUFC confirmed team news
Howe made three changes from the side that lost at Anfield with Nick Woltemade, Aaron Ramsdale and Botman coming in for Anthony Elanga, Nick Pope and Harvey Barnes.
Pope’s omission is something of a surprise, though Ramsdale had started in all of Newcastle’s previous Carabao Cup matches prior to the semi-final first leg.
Under-21s duo Leo Shahar and Sean Neave remained with the first team squad as they await their competitive debut.
Botman’s return also sparks a change in formation with Dan Burn and Malick Thiaw also in the side.
NUFC XI: Ramsdale; Trippier, Thiaw, Botman, Burn, Hall; Willock, Tonali, Ramsey, Gordon; Woltemade
Substitutes: Pope, Wissa, Barnes, Osula, Elanga, J.Murphy, A.Murphy, Shahar, Neave
