Gilgeous-Alexander, 27, logged 28 minutes of action against Orlando on Tuesday night, down from his season average of 33.3.

He was initially listed as questionable for the contest with an illness and finger injury, but finished the contest with 20 points and nine assists in the 128-92 victory.

The Hamilton, Ont. native is in the midst of another MVP-calibre season, averaging the second-most points in the Association at 31.8 points per game to go along with 6.4 assists and 4.4 rebounds.

Gilgeous-Alexander was voted as an All-Star starter for the festivities in Los Angeles later this month, but he will be forced out of the new USA vs. World format introduced this year with the injury.

With their star guard set to be sidelined, the Thunder acquired second-year guard Jared McCain from the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday in exchange for a 2026 first-round pick and three second-rounders.

Oklahoma City has played to a 40-11 record this season after winning the Larry O’Brien trophy last spring, and currently hold a six-game lead over the San Antonio Spurs for first place in the Western Conference.
