The Dallas Mavericks officially closed the book on the Anthony Davis era on Wednesday, sending the 10-time All-Star to the Washington Wizards. Absent from the decision-making process was the executive who brought Davis to Dallas in the first place.
Former general manager Nico Harrison, the architect of the franchise-altering Luka Doncic-for-Davis trade, has remained out of the NBA since the Mavericks dismissed him in November. The former Nike employee has kept a low public profile following his firing. His last public post that sparked a reaction was a simple Instagram bio change, updating it from “GM of the Dallas Mavericks” to “Unemployed.”

Before joining the Mavericks' front office, Harrison spent nearly two decades at Nike following a brief professional basketball career overseas. Recently, speculation about his next move has subsided, with no reports that he has taken on a new front-office position or transitioned into television or media work.
MORE:Mavericks are Cooper Flagg's team now, no questions asked
Harrison's last on-camera appearances were during his press conferences before his firing, which included end-of-season and draft interviews. These moments serve as a record of a front office trying to defend an ambitious, all-in strategy that ultimately failed.
Fortunately for the Mavericks, the emergence of rising rookie Cooper Flagg could be a significant turning point for the franchise. One that will be backed by fresh newcomers Khris Middleton, AJ Johnson, Malaki Branham, Marvin Bagley III, and five draft picks, including two first-rounders.
