In addition to the Thunder trading a 2026 first and three seconds to the 76ers for Jared McCain, OKC is also finalizing a deal to send Dieng to the Hornets for Mason Plumlee, league sources told @ClutchPoints. https://t.co/aJfhUa0rhK

With White, the Hornets get a dynamic score and secondary ball handler off the bench behind LaMelo Ball, Kon Knueppel, and Brandon Miller. We’ve seen firsthand what can happen when White gets hot. His contract expires at the end of this season, so there’s no change from Sexton in that regard.

Mike Conley Jr. replaces Mason Plumlee’s veteran presence while doubling as a depth guard that can play when called upon and is one of the best human beings in the NBA, by all accounts. He hasn’t played much season and he will probably only play spot minutes in Charlotte, but he should be a positive influence in the locker room and calming presence on the floor when he plays. He’s the Hornets’ new unc.

I feel bad for Sexton, who has been a big part of the Hornets hot streak of play. He seems like a good dude in his own right, and you feel for guys getting sent away from those situations. That’s the business though. Sexton will forever be a Hornets’ great whenever I talk about him.

I’m sure there’s more to come, so we’ll save the full analysis of the ramifications for when the dust settles on the deadline.
