Bucks rumored to finally make a trade, but without Giannis Antetokounmpo involved

We are officially less than 24 hours away from the 2026 NBA Trade Deadline, and Giannis Antetokounmpo is still a Buck.

Rumors indicate trade talks have taken place between the Bucks and potential suitors, but nothing has materialized with specific teams yet.

However, the Bucks could make a different trade that doesn't involve Giannis, as one insider posted a report indicating the Bucks are in early talks to acquire one specific scoring guard.

What trade are the Bucks potentially going to make?

NBA insider Brett Siegel reported, "Hearing some rumblings that the Milwaukee Bucks are talking with the Brooklyn Nets about Cam Thomas."

This potential move doesn't come across as a complete shock and seems like a reasonable move for Milwaukee, especially in the case that Giannis stays with the Bucks for the rest of this season.

Thomas is viewed as more of a rental at the moment. The Bucks' inquiry on Thomas is somewhat interesting, considering they might not make the playoffs, but Thomas is a quality scorer that the team could look to add and have as a major part of their future rotation if they trade for him and extend him in the offseason.

It seems more likely that the Nets won't re-sign him this offseason, so they could easily look to move off him before the deadline tomorrow, to guarantee some sort of return instead of losing him for nothing in free agency.

It's important to note as well that Thomas is listed out for personal reasons ahead of the Nets game on Thursday.
