Per NBA insider Chris Haynes, Ball will be waived shortly by Utah and is expected to gain demand as a free agent guard.
According to past reports, the Cavs have been exploring potential deals around Ball. Following the acquisitions of Keon Ellis, Dennis Schroder and All-Star guard James Harden, Cleveland is compelled to finally move on from the former No. 2 pick.
Acquired from the Chicago Bulls last offseason, Ball has significantly struggled this season. In 35 games, he is averaging just 4.6 points in 30 percent shooting for 20.8 minutes.
The Charlotte Hornets are perhaps a team to watch that could sign Ball. Both the Cavs and the Hornets previously discussed a possible deal around Lonzo.
