Lakers exploring trade for $46.8 million former Knicks, Warriors sharpshooting guard, per report

If the Los Angeles Lakers are going to join in on the fun and complete a trade of their own, they must do so by Thursday at 3 p.m.

Los Angeles doesn’t have to force a deal, but if a golden opportunity arises, they shouldn’t hesitate to maximize it.

According to ClutchPoints’ Brett Siegel, a former Golden State Warriors and New York Knicks sharpshooting guard, is on the Lakers’ radar.

“Among teams to speak with the (Minnesota) Timberwolves lately, the Los Angeles Lakers expressed interest in swingman Donte DiVincenzo,” Siegel wrote Wednesday.

“These talks have not progressed to anything significant, as the Timberwolves would only consider moving DiVincenzo if it helped them pull off a trade for Giannis (Antetokounmpo).”

DiVincenzo was solid with the Milwaukee Bucks and Sacramento Kings to kick off his NBA career. However, joining two big market franchises in back-to-back seasons (Warriors in 2022-23 and Knicks in 2023-24) allowed the Villanova product to showcase his skills on the NBA’s brightest stage, and he didn’t disappoint.

DiVincenzo averaged 9.4 points per game on 43.5% field goal shooting and 39.7% long-range shooting with the Warriors during his lone season with the franchise.

The following season, the 29-year-old veteran contributed 15.5 points while connecting on 44.3% of his field goals and 40.1% of his triples.

Simply put, DiVincenzo has valuable experience playing for storied organizations with championship aspirations, making Siegel’s report far from surprising.
