Marmoush could have grabbed his second career hat-trick against the Magpies but struck over from a promising position as we set up a Wembley date with Arsenal next month with an impressive 5-1 win over two legs.

“Of course I think the first goal was very lucky,” he stated in an interview afte the game. “But the action before, I dragged the defender out, played a one two, my touch wasn’t the best but in the end the ball went in.

“I tried to make the runs always and be in the right place. And I’m very happy to score two goals and help the team reach a final.

“I wish I got the hat-trick today as well but I’m very happy to score the two goals. It gives us, the whole team, the confidence to win the game.

“We showed a very good mentality and we were very together as a team. From the first minute we were very focused on the job and I think we showed our mentality and passion in this game. We’re very happy to reach the final.”

The Egyptian is now keen to go one step further and is eyeing up his first piece of silverware for the Club.

“It’s one of the biggest clubs in the world and we’re here to win trophies,” he continued. “We give our best every day to reach these finals and win silverware.

“Hopefully we can do it for all the new players and also the players already here.

“They showed us that every medal and every silverware is important.”
