Boomers, Next Stars in deadline trade chaos

Two Australian Boomers and a pair of NBL Next Stars have new homes after a crazy 2026 NBA trade deadline.

A day after being traded from Memphis to Utah, big man Jock Landale is again on the move, this time to the Atlanta Hawks for cash considerations.

This move will see Landale team up with fellow Boomer Dyson Daniels in Atlanta.

The other Boomer that was traded on Thursday AEDT was guard and South East Melbourne part owner Dante Exum, who was part of an eight-player mega trade between Dallas and Washington.

Exum, along with 10-time NBA All-Star Anthony Davis, Jaden Hardy and D'Angelo Russell shifted to the Washington Wizards for former NBL Next Star AJ Johnson, Khris Middleton, Malaki Branham and Marvin Bagley III, as well as two first-round picks and three second-rounders.

Finally, former Breakers Next Star Ousmane Dieng moved twice in the space of 24 hours.

The Frenchman was first shifted from Oklahoma City, alongside a second-round pick, to Charlotte for Mason Plumlee.

He was then part of the deal, with Collin Sexton and three second-round picks, for Chicago’s Coby White and Mike Conley Jr.

The trade deadline expires at 7am Friday AEDT.
