According to NBA insider Chris Haynes, the Hornets have waived Connaughton. The team formally announced the roster move.
Connaughton averaged 2.9 points and 1.4 boards in just seven minutes this season. He played 22 games.
He originally arrived in Charlotte last offseason via trade from the Milwaukee Bucks, where he spent seven seasons and emerged integral to their 2021 title win.
The Hornets have executed multiple deals ahead of Thursday's trade deadline from landing Coby White, Tyus Jones and others.
