Kristaps Porzingis is headed to the Warriors to reunite with former Celtics teammate Al Horford. Golden State agreed to trade Jonathan Kuminga and Buddy Hield to the Hawks for Porzingis late Wednesday evening, per ESPN’s Shams Charania.

Porzingis hasn’t played much this season due to injury and illness, which has been an issue throughout his career. While the Hawks hoped he would be a piece for them contending, it’s been a disappointing year in Atlanta for him and the team.

The Warriors now will hope they can get Porzingis contributing following the deadline deal. Porzingis was a likely trade candidate ahead of the deadline because of his expiring contract. It was also clear the Hawks hoped they would be able to get some value for the big man. Charania also reported Golden State targeted Porzingis on the trade market for months.
