The Hawks initially traded for Porzingis this past offseason, sending Georges Niang and a 2031 second-round draft pick to the Boston Celtics and guard Terance Mann and the draft rights of Drake Powell, the No. 22 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, to the Brooklyn Nets as part of the trade.

Porzingis has played just 17 games for the Hawks, averaging 17.1 points, 5.1 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.3 blocks per game.

Kuminga has played in 20 games this season and is averaging 12.1 points and 5.9 rebounds. He has been a major trade piece in trade talks for some time, making it clear that he wanted out of Golden State.

Buddy Hield has played in 44 games, averaging 8.0 points in 17.5 minutes.

The trade marks just the latest in a series of moves that reshaped the Hawks dating back to the January trade of franchise star Trae Young to the Washington Wizards.
