CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Charlotte Hornets) - Charlotte Hornets President of Basketball Operations Jeff Peterson announced today that the team has acquired guard Mike Conley and guard Coby White from the Chicago Bulls in exchange for forward Ousmane Dieng, guard Collin Sexton and three second-round picks.
Conley, a 19-year NBA veteran and 2021 NBA All-Star, joins Charlotte after recently being acquired by Chicago from the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Fayetteville, Ark., native spent the first 12 seasons of his career with the Memphis Grizzlies, where he was named Second-Team All-Defense in 2012-13. Conley then spent three-and-a-half seasons with the Utah Jazz before spending the last three-and-a-half seasons with the Timberwolves. Conley is one of seven active players to be drafted into the NBA in 2007 or earlier and averages 13.7 points, 2.9 rebounds, 5.6 assists and 1.6 steals in 1,216 career appearances.
White is a native of Goldsboro, N.C., and played collegiately at the University of North Carolina after graduating from Greenfield School in Wilson, N.C. He is currently averaging 18.6 points, 3.7 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game in his seventh NBA season and holds career averages of 15.4 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game across 451 appearances (251 starts). White was originally selected by Chicago with the 7th pick in the 2019 NBA Draft and was named All-Rookie Second-Team in 2019-20.
Sexton, originally acquired by Charlotte on June 29, 2025, made 42 appearances (12 starts) for the Hornets and averaged 14.2 points, 1.9 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game. The Hornets originally acquired Dieng and a second-round pick from Oklahoma City earlier in the day in exchange for Mason Plumlee. Charlotte sends a 2029 second-round pick (least-favorable of Charlotte/Denver), a 2031 second-round pick via New York and a 2031 second-round pick via Denver to the Bulls alongside Dieng and Sexton.
