Liverpool have held talks with Wolves over a possible move to sign Mateus Mane, who could cost in the region of £50m, according to a report from SportsBoom.
Mane burst onto the scene this season at Wolves, with Rob Edwards giving the young star a chance as the Midlands club struggled at the foot of the Premier League table. Despite being just 18 years old, Mane has come into a side who have won just one Premier League game all season, and he's not looked out of place.
Despite starting just seven Premier League games this term, no Wolves player has produced more goals and assists combined this campaign. With Wolves destined to be relegated to the Championship, Mane will surely be heading through the exit door and seeking a move back to the Premier League ahead of next season.
Liverpool Eyeing Mateus Mane Move

According to a report from SportsBoom, Liverpool have already held talks with Wolves over a possible move to sign Mane. Wolves have reportedly set an 'eye-watering' price tag of around £50m for Mane, but he could become available for a smaller fee in the summer transfer window if the Midlands club suffer relegation from the Premier League.
The Wanderers were uninterested in offloading Mane during the January window, particularly after they brought in a significant fee for Jorgen Strand Larsen, who joined Crystal Palace. It's claimed that with big clubs, such as Liverpool, already making enquiries, Mane could be set for a 'record-breaking' transfer in the summer.
Mane, who has been described as 'special', already looks incredibly comfortable at Premier League level at the age of 18, so it's scary to think where he could be in a few years, especially if he makes the move to a huge club in England.

Liverpool have largely focused their recruitment on signing young players with high potential in recent years. The Merseyside club have brought in eight players for their senior squad who are aged 25 or under in the last 18 months alone, while Jeremy Jacquet will be another to add to that list ahead of his move in the summer.
Mane could make it 10, but Liverpool are likely to face heavy competition for his signature, especially if Wolves are relegated. Liverpool need to show players like Mane that there is a pathway for young stars to develop and make it in the first team.
