A Scarborough man has died after returning home following an assault in Anfield, Liverpool.

At around 1.30am, Merseyside Police received a report of a disagreement which resulted in a group of people assaulting two men on Oakfield Road before making off.
It was reported that one victim, a 53-year-old man, had swelling to his face while the 54-year-old male victim sustained head and rib injuries.
Officers attended and the two victims declined medical attention.
