Signing youngsters to new deals has become a priority for Chelsea ever since they were left embarrassed by one of their rivals in 2024.
The Blues had a lot of faith in the future of Rio Ngumoha, however were unable to convince him of a pathway to the first team and ended up losing him to Liverpool.
The winger has made sporadic first team appearances, and scored his first Premier League goal in dramatic fashion against Newcastle earlier this season.

The reaction since has been good from Chelsea, getting a number of youngsters tied down to new deals. Ryan Kavuma-McQueen has already signed a new deal with the club after plenty of sides took notice of his performances for the youth side.

Mathis Eboue signs professional contract with Chelsea
Another player who has impressed with the academy this season has been Mathis Eboue. The attacking midfielder has three goals and three assists in the U18 Premier League this season.
This seems to have been enough for the club to be convinced over offering him a professional contract, and Chelsea’s website have confirmed he has signed this deal upon turning 17.
The reward comes just over a year after he joined the Blues, when he decided to move there instead of Arsenal, where his father Emmanuel Eboue had featured in the past.
Chelsea signed the youngster from Watford, and it looks as if they have big plans for his future at Stamford Bridge.

Eboue already starring for club and country
As well as impressing at Cobham, the youngster has already made an impact on the international stage.
Eboue has a hat-trick to his name already for the England U17s, with that information no doubt reaching national team manager Thomas Tuchel.
The attacking midfielder, who has previously been praised as ‘powerful’, will be looking to make the step up to Premier League 2 after signing his professional contract with the club.
After that, the world is his oyster as he gets even closer to making his debut for Liam Rosenior’s first team side.
