We will face Manchester City in the 2025/26 Carabao Cup final at Wembley on Sunday, March 22 (4.30pm UK kick-off).
The Citizens beat Newcastle United 3-1 in the second leg of their semi-final to record a 5-1 aggregate win over the holders to set up a showdown with us at the national stadium next month.
We made it to the showpieceby knocking out Port Vale with a 2-0 win at Vale Park in round three, before Brighton & Hove Albion were beaten 2-0 at Emirates Stadium in October.
Just before Christmas, we required penalties to advance past Crystal Palace after a 1-1 draw in N5, but that sent us into the semi-finals where we beat Chelsea 3-2 at Stamford Bridge, before Kai Havertz's 96th-minute goal secured a 1-0 success over the Blues in the return leg and sealed our spot at Wembley.
Pep Guardiola's team, meanwhile, beat Huddersfield Town and Swansea City away from home before knocking out Brentford at the quarter-final stage at the Etihad Stadium, leaving them to successfully negotiate the semi-final against Newcastle.
It will be our ninth League Cup final, and our first appearance in the big occasion since losing to City in 2018. We have won the trophy on two occasions, the last back in 1993, while City are seeking their ninth triumph, having last had their name engraved on the three-handled trophy in 2021.
