Italian confirms Arsenal wants Italian star–agent admits talks to happen in March

Italian Journalist Fabrizio Romano has opened up and claimed that Arsenal are seriously considering making an offer to sign Sandro Tonali from Newcastle United at the end of the season, after his agent hinted a move could happen

News broke right at the end of the transfer window that midfielder Mikel Merino would be out of action for some time after picking up an injury and reports emerged on deadline day that Tonali was being monitored by the Gunners.

Reports claimed that his representatives supposedly indicating to the Premier League leaders that a move could be negotiated, but in the end, the big Italian International obviously stayed put, but that has not stopped speculation that Arsenal are still keen.

ARSENAL wants to keep on adding to the squad at the end of the season, especially if they manage to win that Premier League title, and Mikel Arteta is reportedly a massive fan of the Italian star.

Now – amid speculation and Speaking on YouTube, Romano said: “Arsenal are considering Sandro Tonali, but there are more clubs in England and in Italy, with Juventus. So, nothing at the moment concrete, also because, as his agent said, we have to see Newcastle’s position. We have to respect Newcastle in this story.

“I think there is a possibility Tonali considers a Newcastle exit for the summer, but again, this is also in Newcastle’s hands, so let’s follow that situation.”

The news comes after Tonali’s agent, Beppe Riso, has publicly denied that he offered his client to Arsenal, but has admitted that the midfielder could leave at the end of the season: “I read it, but Newcastle won’t let Sandro leave in January, and we never talked to Arsenal about this,” he said.

“We will evaluate in March whether Newcastle are open to anything, but right now he is playing in the Champions League, it is not the right moment to talk about it.”

IcFootballnews Says…

We are massive fans of Tonali, he is a quality player, but with that ARSENAL midfield stacked with players, he would not get the game time that he is at Newcastle, or at the likes of Manchester United, Tottenham or teams abroad.

If he does go to Arsenal, who does he replace every week?
