Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is now on the verge of making his post-deadline day move to Celtic this week.
Celtic boss Martin O’Neill confirmed that the Bhoys had already spoken to the free-agent midfielder as Oxlade-Chamberlain looks to get back into football.
Out of the game since August 2025, the former England midfielder had his contract with Turkish side Besiktas terminated and now, it looks like Oxlade-Chamberlain could be set for a Celtic medical soon.

The midfielder then left Arsenal to join Liverpool in 2017 where his salary took a massive hike.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s Liverpool salary (per week)
Not quite doubling his pay in his initial Liverpool contract, Oxlade-Chamberlain still negotiated a significant rise.
2017-19: £80,000
2020-23: £120,000
The midfielder did suffer a major injury at Liverpool just before the start of the 2018/19 season that saw Oxlade-Chamberlain out of the game for 366 days.
Further injuries hampered his time at Anfield and Oxlade-Chamberlain left Liverpool to join Besiktas in 2023.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s Besiktas salary (per week)
The Englishman stayed at Besiktas for two seasons and while his salary was nowhere in the realms of what he earned at Liverpool, Oxlade-Chamberlain was still handsomely paid.
2023-25: £51,958
Now on the brink of a move to Celtic, it’s unlikely he will become the Parkhead club’s highest-paid player but there is no doubt he will still be well paid by the Parkhead club should this deal go ahead.
