Arne Slot is preparing his Liverpool side to take on Manchester City this weekend as the Reds look to maintain some momentum. Sitting in sixth position in the Premier League, a win could take Liverpool into fourth position if other results fall their way.

Getting three points will be no easy feat as Pep Guardiola's men look to hang around in the Premier League title race. City are in second position, six points behind Arsenal

Slot will hope to avoid a repeat of the sides' meeting in November, where his squad were swatted aside 3-0 at the Etihad Stadium. "We were completely outplayed when we played them in the first half earlier in the season," the Dutch coach said on Thursday.

"This is a moment to see where we are with the development of this team. We know the importance with the result on Sunday. It's the end phase of the season, so results matter more and more."

Liverpool will be put to the test while still dealing with several significant injuries. We take a look at the latest updates below.

Joe Gomez

The Liverpool defender is not yet back in action following a groin injury but he is in contention to return at the weekend. Slot has confirmed his condition will not allow Gomez to start but he could yet provide a helping hand.

"Joe might train on Saturday," Slot said. "He won't be available to start but may be available to help the team against City."

Possible return date: 08/02.

Jeremie Frimpong

Speaking in January, Arne Slot noted that Frimpong would be out for a few weeks after suffering a thigh injury. The prognosis was deemed better than expected, but the Dutch international remains out of action.

"Jeremie won't train this week so won't play this weekend," Slot said in his press conference ahead of Manchester City.

Possible return date: 21/02.

Alexander Isak

Isak was in the stands to watch Liverpool's win over Newcastle, but is still some way short of a return following his broken leg. The forward remains out for several months as he recovers from surgery on an ankle injury.

"He's not even on the pitch yet," Slot said last month. "He's just out of his walker, so that tells you that we're not expecting him on the pitch today or tomorrow in terms of his recovery work. That's going to take a while before he's back, as we knew."

Possible return date: 21/03.

Giovanni Leoni

Teenage centre-back Giovanni Leoni is not expected back until next season after suffering a campaign-ending ACL injury on debut and undergoing surgery in September.

Possible return date: 03/08.

Conor Bradley

Conor Bradley is not expected to play again for Liverpool this season after suffering a knee injury in the draw with Arsenal earlier this month, and undergoing surgery.

A club statement on Bradley read: "He will undergo [knee] surgery in the coming days and then begin a period of rehabilitation. No timeframe is being placed on his return to playing at this stage of the process."

Possible return date: 21/11
