Liverpool against Manchester City has become one of the Premier League’s most marketable matches in recent seasons.
During the era of Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp, some of the best football ever seen in England’s top division was regularly on show when the two teams met.
Things have changed a little since Klopp’s Liverpool departure in 2024, with Guardiola unable to get the best out of City ever since.

The Premier League’s last two champions face each other once again on Sunday as they both look up to Arsenal as likely title winners.
And ahead of the match at Anfield, a man who was in the last Arsenal team to win the Premier League was spotted taking in Arne Slot’s press conference.
Gilberto Silva spotted at Liverpool’s training ground
It has been 22 long years for Arsenal fans since they watched their legendary ‘Invincibles’ team lift the Premier League in 2004.
There were many iconic players within the side, with the likes of Thierry Henry, Patrick Vieira and Dennis Bergkamp leading the way.

In amongst that was Brazilian World Cup winner Gilberto Silva, who made 32 appearances during the Premier League campaign.
Interestingly, despite having no affiliation to either team, journalist Paul Gorst spotted Gilberto attending Slot’s pre-match press conference on Thursday.
“At AXA Training Centre to hear from Arne Slot at 9am. Brazil and Arsenal legend Gilberto Silva also here this morning,” wrote Gorst.

Why is Gilberto Silva in Liverpool?
There was no further explanation or suggestion from Gorst as to why Gilberto was present to watch Slot preview a big game for his team this Sunday.
However, the 49-year-old has regularly done punditry work for the likes of ESPN, and was possibly appearing in that capacity.
Even if that is the case, though, it is still unusual for a pundit to turn up at a press conference.
Gorst also did not specify whether Gilberto was in the press pack or appearing elsewhere in the room as Slot spoke.
Maybe things will become clear, but for now the Brazilian legend’s presence poses more questions than answers.
