Chelsea are now racing Barcelona and Premier League rivals Arsenal for the signature of a potential "superstar".
Blues keen on signing new "superstar"
BlueCo have received widespread criticism for their model of signing lots of young players, with Gary Neville claiming Liam Rosenior's side "looked like kids and babies" in the first half against West Ham United, prior to their comeback victory.
However, there are seemingly no plans to abandon the approach in the transfer market, with the Blues setting out to sign more midfielders and forwards during the January transfer window.
In fairness, Bellingham has already won the Champions League, while Paz has been a regular starter for Como over the past two seasons, and Endrick has five goals in his first five games on loan at Lyon.
However, Chelsea have also set their sights on a much less experienced midfielder, according to a report from Caught Offside, which states they are in the race to sign Corinthians playmaker Breno Bidon, alongside Arsenal and Barcelona.
Bidon has a €100m (£86m) release clause in his contract with the Brazilian club, but some sources suggest they could be willing to cash-in for a much lower fee, so a deal may not be among the most expensive in the Blues' history.

"Superstar" Bidon could be excellent long-term signing
The youngster has been lauded as a "superstar" by scout Ben Mattinson, and he already has a great deal of first-team experience under his belt, making 107 appearances for Corinthians, which suggests it may soon be time for him to test himself in Europe.
In fact, during the 2025 Brazilian Serie A campaign, the Brazilian featured for 2541 minutes, the second-highest number in the Corinthians squad, and he averaged 1.1 successful dribbles per 90, which ranked him in third place.

The Blues have set their sights on a Premier League star.
Mattinson has also stated Bidon "looks fresh out of La Masia", but he is still very young, and given that he is yet to play in a major European league, an initial loan move to Strasbourg could be beneficial, should Chelsea manage to get a deal over the line.
That said, it wouldn't be the end of the world if the Blues missed out, having received criticism from Jamie Carragher for stockpiling young players, with the Sky Sports pundit saying: "If you continually buy young players, they're not going to mature at the same time, they're not all going to get to where you want to get to, all be amazing signings. That's not going to happen.
"The reason they chop and change centre-backs so often is that they're all the same. The same sort of level, there's no real standout there."
