Devin Booker of the Phoenix Suns is dealing with an ankle injury.

The Phoenix Suns have been playing without Devin Booker since January 25, after he was diagnosed with a sprained right ankle. Booker suffered the injury against the Atlanta Hawks after stepping on Onyeka Okongwu‘s foot.

Booker’s initial timeline was just one week, as per ESPN, but he has missed the last six games. Luckily for the Suns, they have managed to keep things afloat despite the absence of their best player.

The Suns are 4-2 in their last six, with wins over the Brooklyn Nets, Detroit Pistons, Cleveland Cavaliers and Portland Trail Blazers. Their losses were against the Miami Heat and Los Angeles Clippers.

Dillon Brooks has stepped up for Phoenix, averaging 25.3 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.0 steals in those past six games. Grayson Allen is averaging 20.0 points, while Collin Gillespie is putting up 17.0 points, 3.8 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.4 steals in that same span.

Booker’s Status for Warriors Game

According to the Phoenix Suns’ injury report, Devin Booker will be out against the Golden State Warriors. Booker remains in recovery from a sprained right ankle, with no specific return timeline. He has now been out for more than a week, with the end of the second week fast approaching.

The Suns do have some leeway due to how they are playing at the moment. They are also facing a Golden State Warriors team that would be without Steph Curry and Jimmy Butler.

Curry remains out with a knee injury, while Butler has already been ruled out for the season after tearing the ACL in his right knee.

What Did Jordan Ott Say About Booker’s Injury?

Speaking to reporters last Sunday, coach Jordan Ott shared an update on Devin Booker’s injury. Ott had a vague response about Booker’s availability for the All-Star game, implying that there’s a possibility for the player to miss an extended period of time.

“We know who he is,” Ott said, Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic. “As soon as he can get out there, he’s going to get out there, whether the All-Star break is tomorrow or in two weeks. He’s going to rehab like crazy. He was in there again this morning. Whenever he’s ready, he will be out there.”

Ott added that Booker was “skipping steps” in his rehab to return as soon as possible. There is continued progress, so at least there was still some good news for the Suns.

Jalen Green Listed as Questionable

In addition to Devin Booker, Jalen Green is also on the Suns’ injury report. Green is listed as questionable because of a right hamstring and a left hip contusion. He has missed the majority of his first season in Phoenix with a recurring right hamstring injury.

Green last played on January 30 against the Cleveland Cavaliers. He was cleared of his hamstring issue, but he suffered a bad fall in the third quarter. He was fighting for a rebound with Jarrett Allen when he lost his balance in the air and landed hard on his back.

The former No. 2 pick stayed in the game, but he has now missed the last two contests. He will likely get upgraded to available or downgraded to out before tip-off.
